The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI®) is one of the most commonly used psychological tools in the world. It was developed by Katharine Briggs and Isabel Myers based on the psychological types theory of Carl Gustav Jung.
MBTI® helps to understand how people perceive the world, make decisions, and interact with their environment. This tool can be used to better match individuals to tasks and roles within a team, increasing work efficiency and improving communication.
MBTI® divides personality into four opposing preferences, which together create 16 unique personality types:
E (Extraversion) – drawing energy from interactions with others.
I (Introversion) – focusing on the internal world and reflection.
S (Sensing) – focusing on facts and concrete details.
N (Intuition) – preferring ideas, patterns, and the future.
T (Thinking) – making decisions based on logic and analysis.
F (Feeling) – guided by values and the impact of decisions on others.
J (Judging) – a preference for planning, structure, and order.
P (Perceiving) – flexibility, openness to change, and new options.
It consists of a preferences questionnaire (usually 93 questions), with results determining preferences in each of the four pairs.
Based on the results, we get a four-letter code, e.g. ENTJ, ISFP, INFJ – each type has a unique profile.
